It will take place in Rimini from 16 to 20 January 2026. After the national and continental selections, 12 teams land at Sigep involved in 10 competition tests, three Gelato, Pastry, Chocolate, Ice Sculpture and Haute Cuisine.

Gelato World Cup

The Gelato World Cup, a prestigious biennial event, will take place in Rimini in January 2026. After national and continental selections, 12 teams will arrive at Sigep to compete for the world title through challenges in Gelato-making, Pastry, Chocolate-making and Haute Cuisine.

Each team, selected throughout the year, will consist of a gelato maker, a pastry chef, a chef, and an ice sculptor, all led by a team manager.

The Gelato World Cup, is organised by Gelato e Cultura Srl with Sigep of IEG Exhibition Group. President is the first Italian world champion of gelato: Sergio Colalucci, who, with the board, is committed to continuing to spread the craftsmanship of gelato around the world.

Participating Teams

Selections are underway worldwide in preparation for the Gelato World Cup, which will take place in Rimini in January 2026.

Following last year’s national selections, this year focuses on continental selections to identify the 12 teams eligible for the XI edition of the GWC:

GELATO ASIA CUP – FHA Horeca Singapore
October 22-25, 2024

GELATO EUROPE CUP – Sigep Rimini
January 18-19, 2025

GELATO CHINA CUP – Sigep China
April 24-26, 2025

GELATO AMERICA CUP – FIITHEP Buenos Aires
June 9-12, 2025

How to partecipate in GWC 2026

To participate in the Gelato World Cup, a team must include a gelato maker, a pastry chef, and a chef, all led by a team manager. Only one team per nation can take part in the World Selections, which grant access to the world final at Sigep in 2026. Selections are first held in the respective country and then at the continental level.

The Italian Team

In Italy, the national selection is the Sigep Gelato d’Oro, held in the days following the GWC at Sigep in Rimini. The winners then compete for one of four European slots in the semi-final, the Gelato Europe Cup, also hosted at Sigep the year before the world cup.
